Manu Cultural Zone Trip 7 Days 6 Nights

 

The Manu Cultural Zone is a biosphere reserve park located in Madre de Dios and Cusco, it protects Rainforest areas, Andean grasslands, cloud forests and Jungle Animals.

Day 1: Lima
Upon arrival in Cuzco we will meet you and transfer you to you chosen hotel.  For some travelers this could be the Casa San Blas, Midori, Casa Andina or similar hotels and for luxury travelers the fabulous Monasterio Hotel, Aranwa, or the Casa Cartagena Hotel, subject to space of course. Acclimatization to altitude in city.

Day 2: CUSCO - CLOUD FOREST - PAITITI LODGE
6.am- 3horas a 4horas paucartambo Leaving from Cusco very early in the morning in our comfortable bus. Ascending to the high mountain area of Paucartambo. On the way we visit the funeral towers or chullpas of Ninamarca. The bus then descents through the mysterious cloud forest full of beautiful orchids, heliconias and primitive ferns. Stopping to give you an opportunity to witness Cock of the Rocks (Rupicola Peruvian) mating ritual. There are also possibilities to observe the Amazonian Umbrellabird (Cephalopterus Ornatus), Trogon (Trogon sp.) and many more. With luck the only South American bear, the Spectacled Bear (Tremarctos ornatus). In the afternoom we arrive to the village of Atalaya, where we take our boat 30 minutes by Alto Madre de Dios River to our typical lodge. Showers and toilets available.

Day 3: PAITITI LODGE
After delicious breakfast in the morning the group organize to walk until our view point to observe the villages aroud the river and walking inside the jungle around the lodge where you can see many species of birds, insects and many other small animals Night in Lodge. Showers and toilets shared.

Day 4: LODGE – PARROTS CLAY LICK – MACHUHUASI LAKE
Very early in the morning . we take the boat for aproximaly 30 minutes to the parrots lick . we can observe the small green parrots ,some birds and small animals a walk explore to the trails and lake we continue observe the flora as orchids, bromelias and ferns specially , and fauna as turtles, frogs, the brown capuchin monkey, besides the river we can observe to white caimans, capybaras(hidroacheris). Nigh in Lodge. Showers and Toilet shared .

Day 5 : PAITITI LODGE – HOT SPRING WATER - PAITITI
After the breakfast we take the boat to go along the river alto alto Madre de Dios , where will see many kind birds in the banks of the river ,we have to stop to visit Native Community Shintuya where we can walk around the community half hour then we will go by boat and arrive to Aguas Calientes hot spring (curative waters) .to take the shower for relaxs. In the afternoon we come back to Paititi Lodge. Night in lodge. Entrances fee hot spring S/10.00

Day 6: PAITITI LODGE – ATALAYA - CUSCO
After a delicious breakfast unfortunately we come back by boat until the port Atalaya to take the boat to back to Cusco . Transfer to the hotel.

Day 7: Free morning in Cusco, afternoon flight to Lima and connect to your onward flights home.
